Shortwood Drift

Shortwood Drift is an acoustic harmony group based in Nailsworth, Glos. They have built up an eclectic mix of tracks they perform - from Americana and the occasional traditional folk songs to popular music we all know and love, which they adapt to their own style. They also write their own unique songs on subjects such as the world we live in and the importance of staying positive.

Formed in 2022 by Julia Finlow and Georgina Saddington, they were inspired by their attendance at the Bristol Folk Festival in May of that year and were soon joined by singer/guitarist Mike Isaacs. They have now grown to a 5-piece band with the inclusion of Christine Tavinner in 2024 on ukulele and ukulele bass and Alejandro Garcia in 2025 on guitar.

Over the weekend of October 11th and 12th, 2025 the band recorded 8 tracks ‘live’ at fellow Bmin member Pete Rowley’s Attic Attack Studios in Bristol, including two of their own numbers ‘The Time is Here’ and ‘Just Keep Riding Through’ and adapted tracks from acts such as First Aid Kit, Tina Turner, Daisy Chute and Kylie Minogue. We are delighted with the finished result and are happy to share them if you would like to hear us.

From open mics to private gigs, Shortwood Drift are building a reputation for melodic songs with tight harmonies and catchy tunes, as well as songs that have a story to tell.

Our guitarist, Mike Isaacs, has been a director of Bmin since October 2014 and has seen many individuals attend the meetings and benefit from networking with the more long-standing members.
