Louder Together

RetiniH

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Retini was raised in Queens, New York before settling in Bristol, UK. Having started her musical journey with some twists and turns over the years, her songs often speak about various aspects of life with an emphasis on the unplugged acoustic folk genre.

Formerly part of the duo Reviva Rush, her music explores a range of acoustic styles, blending vocal harmonies and the melodic instrumental sounds. Her songwriting has been influenced by great folksingers of the 1960’s and she has drawn inspiration from a wide range of different artists and genres. Having spent much of her adult life at the piano and guitar, she writes songs which are triggered by emotions, current events and her personal thoughts on global issues. She enjoys being part of music festivals and meeting like-minded people who have a love for contemporary music.

Check out RetiniH’s tracks on her Bandcamp page such as Moving Mountains and Patch of Light from her 2023 EP Blues for Christmas. The album is a compilation of songs with a bitter sweet message about Love, Compassion and Hope. It tries to convey the idea of “there always being another tomorrow” and honesty in human relationships.

You can also find her 10-track album Hear me now, released in 2022.

Comments about Bmin

I have been a member of Bmin for a few years now and recently attended an informative and interesting event organised by Mike Isaacs and his team in October 2025. I thoroughly enjoyed the relaunch event which encouraged musicians to get involved more in the music scene in and around the Southwest. I particularly enjoyed the talk given by Mike as he is very supportive and knowledgeable about the music industry; he also has a deep understanding of what is required to keep active and inspired as a musician. I think that this platform is a great way to network with other musicians and to know of any music projects or opportunities which may arise. When considering to produce an EP or a new album, Bmin is also in a strong position to help promote your music and has useful contacts for recording/producing your songs so I would definitely recommend people to join to ensure that your music is out there.
