Bmin are pleased to spread the word about an exciting new Jazz Promoters Fellowship that is running in partnership with the amazing Help Musicians UK (developed to create a gender balanced approach to promoting jazz artists and bands) by sharing the following announcement.
New Jazz Promoters Fellowship In Partnership with HMUK: A gender balanced approach to promoting jazz artists and bands – Application deadline is midday 7th July 2017
https://www.helpmusicians.org.uk/…/jazz-promoters-fellowship
This fully-funded HMUK fellowship has been developed to create a gender balanced approach to promoting jazz artists and bands, leading to a more diverse and inclusive jazz scene in the UK.
Application deadline is midday 7th July 2017
Interviews are 20th July 2017
The scheme runs from July 2017 to July 2018. Hosted by leading UK venues on key dates across the jazz calendar, this fellowship’s seven seminar days will develop new promoters in methods of best practice across a wide range of topics. This will include programming and creative diversity, marketing, audience development, strategic planning, team leadership and delegation, risk assessment, insurance, contracts and service agreements, writing funding applications, budget management and project evaluation.
Each participant is given the opportunity to devise and deliver a self-initiated yearlong project focused on ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach to programming in venues and festivals. Each candidate will be supported by a grant of £1,200.
The yearlong Jazz Promoters Fellowship is designed to help the next generation of male and female promoters establish themselves both regionally and nationally, offering a unique route of professional development with a core ethos to consciously redress the jazz scene’s current gender imbalance through continual exploration into why it exists and how we can best work together to redress.
